ELEMENTS OF SUCESS 3 - FRANK UZOR

Image
Before we conclude this segment and move on to Elusive Success, I would like for us to consider some of the other elements of success. They are not necessarily coming in any order of importance but rather so arranged to make for easy reading and assimilation. (5) VISION Vision is the contemporary picture of a future event made available to people living for a purpose. It is a clear concise description of where one is heading to or what one is aiming to become. Vision is always purpose based; any vision without a purpose is mere day dreaming. The individuals who have made it to the top regardless of their place of birth or level of education all had a vision. Vision brings tomorrow into perspective and causes the bearer to move progressively from the known to the unknown until expectation becomes a tangible reality. Professor Pat Utomi, one of Nigeria's finest economists once said, "If you cannot see tomorrow, it may be tough to shape it and it may...

ELEMENTS OF SUCESS 2

the next point we shall consider is character (3) CHARACTER Another word for character in this context is honour or integrity. Joe Paterno said, "Success without honour is an unseasoned dish, it will satisfy your hunger but it won't taste good." In deed character is the pillar of success; it is like the foundation carrying a building without which it cannot stand. We can liken it to the power behind the throne or the hub of the wheel. In fact as a dish is incomplete without seasoning, so it is with success if character is lacking.  Character crisis is at the heart of the issues that brought about disruptions in the otherwise successful reign of King David in the Bible. (2 Samuel 11,12 respectively). On the other hand, it was good character that distinguished Joseph while in Egypt as a slave. As the chief servant of Potiphar, he had all the space in the world to make his master's wife his sex subject but he refused even though she offered herself...

20 RULES FOR GODLY MEN

Image
●Don’t shout at your wife when you are talking. It really hurts her. (Proverbs 15:1) ●Do not speak evil of her to anyone. Your wife will become who you call her. (Gen. 2:19) ●Do not share her love or affection with another woman. It is called Adultery. (Matt. 5:28) ●Never compare your wife to another woman. If the other woman was good for you, God would have given her to you. (2 Cor. 10:12) ●Don’t ever allow her to beg you for sex. She owns your body just as you own her body. (1 Cor. 7:5) ●Be gentle and accommodating. She has sacrificed so much to be with you. It hurts her deeply when you are hash and irritating. Be tender. (Eph. 4:2) ●Hide nothing from her. You are now one and she’s your helpmeet. Let there be no secret you are keeping from her. (Gen. 2:25) ●Do not make negative comment about her body. She risked her life and beauty to carry your babies. She is a living soul not just flesh and blood. ●Do not let her body determine her worth. Cherish and apprecia...

BEAUTY QUEENS - A FRANK OPINION BY MR. OGBONNAYA NWOTA

Image
They are usually elegant, tall, slender and beautiful. They wear an insignia of the crown. They are called Queens. Beauty Queens. Time was when they were few, exquisitely classic with a powerful mix of brains and beauty; that time is no more. Time was when they were rarely seen in the offices and/or private homes, soliciting for handouts in the name of pet projects; that time no one can recall. Time was when these Queens walk with panache with an aura of distinction and in a class of superlatives; that time is history. Time was when native intelligence, social brilliance and a combination of nature and nurtured unflawed physique and unflappable personality were basic criteria for Beauty Queenship; that time is superannuated. Unfortunately, contemporary Beauty Pageant is a contrast of the old order. Yes, they are still beautiful. Unarguably, they are still tall. Indeed, the contest is no longer confined only to slender girls, there are also beauty parades for th...

ELEMENTS OF SUCCESS - Frank Uzo

Image
In this segment we shall be considering basic issues that are inevitable in the quest to achieve success. You might also choose to call them success principles. The following are some principles that can help anyone achieve success.    (1) SELF DISCOVERY:   Success is achieved when you know who you are, understand where you are going and move progressively towards its attainment; that is the summary of the concept of self discovery. Why so? Because success is the progressive advancement towards an identified course (which re-echoes my definition of the concept of success) Many people live through life unknown and without any traceable level of impact because they do not bother to know who they are; this is not common to Africa because I have met people from different parts of the world who do not know who they are beyond their names and perhaps nationalities. Your name is actually a reflection of what your parents thought about you at th...
